Wednesday 27th April.
Well after what we are sure seemed like the longest "Bon voyage" gatherings to everyone..numerous comments of "how many more times do we have to say Bon Voyage.... we have finally set sail.
The cunning plan was to head East to make the most of the prevailing South Westerly winds....so what did we get but a force 5 to 6 North Easterly!! Mrs S being as impatient as ever said it was time to go and we couldn't stay in Eastbourne any longer, so off we set for Dover. 60 miles and 13hrs later having had to beat into big seas we arrived...the only plus side being that it was sunny all day.
As for the old sea dog Zilla, she coped manfully and managed to keep her legs crossed for the whole journey. She is now enjoying the freedom of Dover Harbour and looking forward to a walk on the White Cliffs.
